Ian Homer’s John o’Groats to Land’s End in 7 Days Challenge
In a little under a week’s time, 24th May, I set off with one other to ride the length of GB from John o’ Groats to Land’s End in 7 days. No vans, cars, fancy hotels and soigneurs etc. just 900 miles of road and (mostly) rough sleeping. We aim to do this on an on the road budget of £100 each.
‘Why?’ I hear you ask. Well twofold – I got invited by two adventurer friends, James Ketchell (http://jamesketchell.net/) and Sean Conway (http://seanconway.com) back in January. Things have changed since and only James will be starting in Scotland, with Sean maybe joining us nearer the South Midlands area.
Since I said yes to this slightly deranged venture I decided to dedicate my ride to the memory of a close friend who died suddenly at the age of 34 after having an epileptic seizure in his sleep.
Therefore I have decided to collect money by way of sponsorship for the Epilepsy Society who fund research and help out those with the condition.
If you would like to make a donation I would be very grateful. I have a Just Giving page set up at:

You can find more about the ride itself on my blog which will be kept updated as often as I can on the ride itself:

If any Ajax members want to join us as we pass through the Wye valley and head to Bristol then we’d be very happy to see you! I expect it will be around day 5 of our ride which will make it 28th May.
