Club Rides – Sunday 5th May

Unfortunately I have had a poor response from my volunteers this week so we only have 3 designated rides arranged for Sunday. I am sure that if we need to split the groups there will be other ride leaders there to help out.

This week sees the Norman Harris Road Race and Ajax have 8 riders in this race. It is our intention to get the Sunday rides out towards the course to give support to our riders as they pass by.

There is no fast group 1 due to racing.

Group 2 (faster middle) and Group 3 (slower middle) will be covering the same route at different speeds.
Dave Badat will lead group 2 and Mark Chichester will lead group 3.

Maindy- Rumney- A48 to Newport- Langstone- Penhow- Crick- Shirenewton- Gaerllwyd- Llangwm- Gwernesney- Usk- Chainbridge- Raglan Garden Centre(coffee)- Usk- Llangybi- Caerleon- Castleton- Maindy. 80 miles with 1 climb.

Martyn Lock will lead group 4 over a slightly shorter and flatter route.

Maindy- Newport Flats- Caerleon- Llangybi- Usk- Chainbridge- Raglan garden Centre (coffee)- Gwernesney- Usk- Llantrisant- Christchurch- Newport- Castleton- Maindy. 68 miles rolling.

We should all meet the racers between Usk and Raglan as they will be coming the other way so please show your support and give the guys some encouragement.
