Ajax Evening Time Trial Series

The club’s evening time trial series starts on Friday 22nd May and runs every Friday up until the end of August. The course is the same as in recent years; start in Bonvilston (more-or-less opposite the Red Lion public house), head along the A48 to the Cowbridge turning and then retrace the route to finish opposite the start (approx. 7.4 miles). The series’ winner is determined by the best average of the five fastest rides completed. After each event we stay in the Red Lion for food or a drink – so even if you’re not tempted to turn the pedals in anger, it’s a great opportunity to catch up with club members.

First rider is off at 19:01 – please can everyone arrive by 18:30 to sign on in the Red Lion car park. Cost is £3 per rider

Under 18s will need to bring a completed parental consent form. There will be blank forms at the start but these can also be obtained from here (One form will cover the entire series.)

We also need helpers each week – namely to marshal the turn at Cowbridge and to push off.

Finally, the Red Lion are happy for us to use their car park again this year; however can we please limit parking to about half a dozen vehicles or so and ensure that everyone who does use the car park stays for food or a drink afterwards. Extra roadside parking is available just around the corner in Maes-Y-Ffynon.
